Introduction
I recently finished reading A Wolf Called Wander by Rosanne Parry. It’s a great adventure fiction book from the perspective of a young wolf named Swift. Swift is separated from his family and has to survive in the wilderness all on his own. Read this book review to find out more about this book and what I think of it.
Story
This book starts in a dark underground den where a young wolf, named Swift is born along with his siblings. Swift slowly grows up to learn how to hunt elk and lead the pack. But when an enemy pack attacks he and his family are separated and Swift has to learn to survive in the wilderness on his own. He faces large predators, unknown territory, humans, and enemy wolves on his journey to find a new home.
Opinion
I like this book because it shows the perspective of other animals. It also shows how smart animals deal with conflict and life-threatening situations. This book also shows how the wolf pack works and how wolves hunt. If you’re into adventure books where heroes travel, and books that have animals and nature, this is a great book for you. I rate this book 4 stars because it’s filled with details that make you feel that you are in the book and part of the story. The only thing that was slightly confusing about this book was the animals’ words for human tools, though they were confusing at first, they became easy to understand later in the book.
