Introduction
Over Thanksgiving break, I read a book about a boy whose brother is accused of being a terrorist for Al-Qaeda and has to deal with his former friends starting to look at him with mistrust and fear. This book was Code Of Honor By Alan Gratz, a story about a boy on his journey to prove his brother innocent and save The United States from a possible terrorist attack. Read this book review to find out more information about this book and my thoughts on it.
Story
This book starts off with Kamran Smith receiving the shocking news that his brother, Darius, has been seen leading an attack on a U.S. Embassy in Turkey, this raising mistrust and fear of him and his family in the country. And when he’s taken from his home and transported into a government facility to be interrogated, he knows The U.S. already thinks of his brother as a terrorist. But when he receives a clue from Darius about a possible attack on The United States, he knows that we will have to do whatever it takes to prevent the attack from happening to prove Darius’s innocence.
Opinion
This book was an action-filled page-turner that was full of intense scenes and suspenseful moments. It shows very clearly how someone who was being looked at like a terrorist and having their brother accused of being one would feel. It was full of moments that gives you a deep look into their life and their emotions. I would recommend this book to children in middle school or above and people who find action-filled books about terrorism interesting. I rate this book 5 stars because it had a suspenseful storyline with interesting characters and personalities.
