Introduction

A few days ago, I read a book about a boy who loses his memory after falling off a roof, of course, he doesn’t know that when he wakes up. Back at school, he returns to find people who are terrified of him and some who treat him like a friend. Read this book review to find out more about Restart By Gordon Korman and what I think of it.

Story

This book starts off in a hospital setting in which Chase Ambrose wakes up with no idea who he is, where he is, or why he’s here. Turns out, he fell off a roof of a building and lost his memory. After a few days of rest, he returns to school to get mixed reactions ranging from terrified to ecstatic. As he finds out more about his life, he finds out he was a troublemaker and bully, which piques his curiosity as to what exactly was he doing atop the building…

Opinion

This book was a very entertaining and interesting read. It had mixed elements of humor, action, and mystery. A few things I like about this book were that the author manages to keep it humorous and interesting while keeping the reader aware that Chase was trying to get to the bottom of his past actions, I also like that Chase starts to forms friendships with the people he bullied and leaving troublemaking friends as a way to redeem himself. I would recommend this book from 5th-8th grade, but older audiences can read it too. I rate this book a 5 star because of its humorous storyline as well as mysterious parts which create an interesting story.
