Age of History II (also known as Age Of Civilizations II, abbreviated AoH2 or AoC2) is a Singleplayer Turn-Based Grand Strategy Game that gives the player the ability to run their own nation. It has many features such as the ability to fight wars, develop your country, and even create brand-new maps!
The game can be bought on Steam for a reasonable price of $4.99. It has multiple setting options that you can use to adjust the UI and Audio to your personal preference. The game is quite complicated and requires a few games to get a grasp of, but don’t worry! There is a Tutorial that leads you through the basics. You can start a new game and choose from a wide variety of scenarios that take place anywhere from time periods like the American Civil War, the Victorian Era, and even the Modern-Day World.
There are options to save games so you can come back to them at a later time more suitable to you. Alongside this, the games themselves have multiple features that make the playthrough more fun for the player. The game has multiple map modes which can show you the economy of each of your provinces, the amount of stability in the province, and much more. The game also offers a lot of diplomatic options that can let you interact with other countries in the game. You can form alliances, send insults, improve relations, and send gifts.
But in my opinion, the feature that makes this game really stand out from other games like it is The Editor. The Editor gives you the option to create your own scenarios and play them! Alongside this, you can also create your own leaders, civilizations of your own, and your own leaders.
As a final thought, I recommend this game is suitable for people over 13 because the game is so complex it will not suit the entertainment needs of younger children. I also believe that this game is worth the low amount of money spent and can serve as an alternative to the more expensive and complex grand strategy games, such as Hearts of Iron VI.
