The Garden Bed Experience

Today, our family gathered outside on our porch at around 2 in the afternoon to help my mom with a little project. She was making a garden bed, a structure intended to enclose a small patch of plants and protect it from the forces of nature and hungry pests. We laid out the wooden slabs and got the tools to start building. But before that, we had to watch my parents debate over the correct way to use the drill, where to put the screws, and everything else. This went on for about 10 minutes. When they finally agreed, we got to work.

As it was our first project of this type, the whole family was initially very confused and cautious of the driver. They couldn’t figure out why the screw wasn’t tightening until I informed them that the drill was spinning the wrong way, loosening the screw instead of tightening it. The entire process went quite smoothly after that, everyone got to test out the drill, and the simple yet functional garden bed was finished within 30 minutes. My dad was very proud of his work, declaring: “This is my new passion!”
